Wedding Bells!
Today is Friday May 22nd at 3:03 pm ... in exactly 7 days and 2 hours I will be walking down the aisle to marry the love of my life Aaron! Finally! :)
Since I last posted in March I've kept busy with getting rid of some of my "junk" ... I've made some donations to local second-hand stores as well as to my brother, since he is having a yard sale in June sometime to raise money for a missions trip down south ... I never realized how much I had that I never use or remembered having. There were about 5 boxes down in the dungeon that were either totally given to charity or were put in the garbage ... I think I kept four or five items out of all of those boxes. I still have about 30 boxes to ship across, but they are filled with items that are important and sentimental to me, as well as gifts.
My family threw me a Pampered Chef party, and we were able to get about $500 in free items, as well as two half price items, one of which my family used and bought us a huge set of pots and pans. We now have enough to cook a meal for a large amount of people, more then I have burners on my stove for! :) It was so much fun going through it all this morning as I packed it away nicely for shipping ... drooling over it and wanting to use it, but realizing that my cupboards are pretty much bare anyways, so no use cooking anything! :)
After the year and a half of engagement, it doesn't really seem real that we are getting married in one week ... it's still seeming a bit surreal, but I'm sure the reality will sink in fast. Especially when I don't have to go to someone else's house to sleep at night! It won't be a visit, it'll be for real! :)
I don't know if I am going to continue with posting on this blog, or if I'll simply take over Aaron's. Feel free to check it out. www.kulbe.name
Love and hugs and many thanks!

Catch up and caught up!
Well, it's been a while since I've posted again ... I'm not getting the hang of this as you can see ... let's see ... what's happened since I last posted ...
I decided that I was going to head off to Oregon for a while to set up house and do some things there. So I left on February 9th and stayed through till March 11th. I left strict requests and instructions with my room-mates to keep an eye on the mail and to let me know ASAP if I received anything from the US Consulate. A emailed me on the 19th of Feb that they had received a letter. My interview was scheduled for March 17th ... 6 days after I got home ... good timing! {I did pass... and received all my paperwork on the 20th}
My time in Oregon was great ... The first weekend I was there, Aaron and I went up to Port Angeles Washington where he was born and grew up and visited old friends, new friends and some family. What another beautiful part of the country! The second weekend we headed up to Seattle to connect with my sister and brother-in-law. They were in Abbottsford BC for the weekend visiting his parents for there anniversary, but took a sidetrip down to see us. Such fun and good views too from the top of the space needle. The third weekend we headed off to Astoria and the coastal region and ended off with having dinner with the Roaches, a family from RCC.
On the Thursday evening of the fourth weekend that I was there, Aaron snuck in a friend of mine from Alabama that I hadn't seen in three years!! It was so great hanging out with Shelley for the weekend!!! We took her out to Lincoln City on the coast and did some sight-seeing and some shopping at the outlet mall. Sadly she had to leave early Sunday morning in order to make it back to school for Monday. I am so glad we got to have some time together though before her whirlwind visit for my wedding!
I left Oregon on Wednesday the 11th, but not before Joanna was able to throw me a bridal shower on the Tuesday night. It was a very fun evening visiting with some of the ladies from church and being blessed by there generosity! :) Thank you all, so much!
I spent a few days in Buffalo when I got back, since I can't cross over now until I'm ready to move. The following Monday morning Geraldine and I climbed into the car and made the long drive to Montreal Quebec for my Tuesday morning interview at the Consulate. As soon as I was out of there we turned around and drove home again Tuesday afternoon.
During the drive to and from Montreal we were praying for our Aunt Ricki Bos, who was in the hospital. We thank our Heavenly Father for the blessing of having her in our lives, she went Home to Glory on Wednesday March 18th. We will miss her always, but know that she has achieved her crown, and has run her race to completion.
For the next two months I'll be packing up my life here in Ontario and getting ready to move. I hope to be crossing into Buffalo on May 25th and getting married on May 29th! :) Finally our wedding has come!!!

life in the new slow lane ...
Its been two weeks today since I worked my last day ... and wow ... time still moves fast even when you don't do the same thing every day!!

I've kept myself somewhat busy with minor things the past few weeks. On Saturday the 17th of Jan I went with my oldest sister and her family to the Fallsview Indoor WaterPark ... now that may surprise some of you, since I don't swim, and I don't like waterslides .. but the hottub and the wave pool were wonderful, as was lounging on the chairs and napping. The 87F weather didn't hurt any either, especially since it was in the double digits below zero C that day outside! (I don't have pictures, I need to scam my sisters card still, when I get some, I'll see what I can do to post.)
I've been mostly working on going through boxes and closets and cupboards and seeing what I have saved over the last 6 years since I moved out ... and wow ... I have so many things that I don't need!!! I've already passed along 5 bags of things to Value Village and more will surely follow that ... (though I did hear that VV is now owned by Walmart - explains the rising prices!! I will probably take my stuff to Salvation Army) ...
I spent an afternoon out at Webster Falls with a friend as well ... it was a wonderfully sunny day, if slightly chilly outside ... we both got some great shots.

I think I took about 280 shots that day ... just playing and still learning my camera ... getting better at the aperture and stuff, but I'm still lost in the dark sometimes!
I also bought another plane ticket, this one A knows about ... I'm going to spend a month down in Oregon... I can't wait! Hopefully when I get back I'll have heard something from the consulate as to when I have to be in Montreal and I can finally pick a date! :)
oh .. and its snowing again today ... another 15 to 20 cm forecast for my neighbourhood ...

changes changes everywhere
Well its been a season of change in my life the past little bit ... let me bring you up to speed ...
After I spent two and a half weeks in Oregon visiting Aaron and just relaxing in September, I started thinking about what I could get or do for him for his birthday in November. I talked with a few of the ladies there and the plan of maybe coming out and surprising him for his birthday came to mind. Well when it came down to it, I didn't actually go for his birthday, since I was in the middle of a big project at work, and he was busy with some things as well ... but I never told him what I had been thinking about.
All through November and December it was still on my mind, I was really starting to miss him, and I knew that he was going through the feelings too ... we were really missing each other. So I started watching plane fares ... I downloaded a few different price watching gadgets and just tracked things. Well I noticed the prices starting to go down slowly for the day after Christmas and thought that would be a good time to go ... i'd still get to have the day with my family and really not miss that much work, since we were going to be closed the 24th till the 5th. So on December 18th I bought my plane ticket ... unbeknownst to Aaron.
I am glad that I only had to keep that a secret for one week ... it wasn't easy really ... there was only my family out here really that knew that I was going to visit ... and I had only told 3 people in Oregon that I was coming ... the surprise was in the works! It was a great surprise too ... Aaron was shocked to see me, and getting that first hug from him was fantastic!
We did so many things for the apartment while I was there ... arranging the furniture that Aaron found and purchased for us, hosting some friends for dinner, putting things in the cupboards and just starting to make it a home for him to enjoy in the next few months.
I was originally only supposed to be in Oregon until the 6th, so that I could go back to work on the 7th and only lose those two days, but my girlfriend Nancy and her husband Josh in Colorado had there baby 2-1/2 months early. Little Madelynn Grace was born at 1 lb, 9 ounces. So I changed my ticket on New Years Eve and flew into Denver on the 7th and stayed till the 9th. Getting to spend time with Nancy and Josh was great, and meeting little Maddie was wonderful as well. Praise God that things are going well with her, she is growing slowly, but surely! :)
Returning to work on Monday the 12th was full of surprises for me as well. I was called into a meeting with my manager and the manager of the HR department and was offered a severance package. Today (Wednesday the 14th) was my last day working at Walters Inc. after 11 years. Even though I knew that my last day was coming, that I was going to be handing in my notice, it was sad for me today leaving. It'll be strange to wake the next few mornings and not have to go to work ... but I will adjust, and be able to plan some more for our wedding.
We also heard back from the US Consulate yesterday and my name is on the waiting list for an interview. They anticipate being able to provide one for us in about three to four months. So its looking like our wish for an April wedding has been pushed out to June, July or August.
We know all things are done in God's perfect timing, but our sinful human nature makes us want to wail and moan about our problems. He is in control and we must lay all our cares on Him. Please join us in prayer that His will be done quickly and without fail!

Fall
Well its that time of year again .. the clothing styles are changing again ... the sweaters are becoming the more predominant choice of outerwear, as well as vests and coats ... i've seen a few scarfs, and mornings call for gloves while driving ... soon it'll all be white out there ... :)
I had a chance a few weeks back to go out and take our (Aaron's & mine) new toy out for a test ... we got a digital SLR camera, the Rebel XTi ... and i'm liking it ... learning lots still, i'm no where near good yet, but thats the joy of digital, its so easy to snap and snap and delete and delete ... :) here are a few from that day out ... enjoy!
